“I’ve been roping since I was five, six years old. My uncle - he’s roped forever - he’s the one who taught me everything.”
How did you get started?
“Growing up I did it because I liked being around horses. Then it turned into roping for fun. Then I started putting money up. Now, I have to work for it.”
What do your days look like?
“I work every day, most days for eight to ten hours. Rope until midnight, 1AM.”
Do you do other work for a living?
“I am, what I like to call, a semi-retired pipeline welder. I pipelined for many years, but I took a break the last two or three years. I got burnt out which is why I moved out here to rope again.”
Got a favorite horse?
“My favorite horse is an 18-year-old named Buster - owned him a couple different times. I’ll get broke, sell him for a bunch of money, then I’ll buy him back. I got him now. He’s here to stay. He’s my best friend by far.”
What’s your favorite Noble Outfitters product?
“The Ranch Tough Pants are comfortable, and being out here in Texas out in this humidity, they’re able to breathe a little. Also got my first pair of roping gloves back in Vegas. Had them ever since. They last long.”
